Singer and presenter Charlotte Church has been selected to deliver the 2013 John Peel Lecture on the theme of women and their representation in music.

The lecture is designed to create debate and insight around music and music media, inspired by its namesake. The two previous lectures were given by Pete Townshend (2011) and Billy Bragg (2012), and this year's will take place on the first day of the 2013 Radio Festival in Salford (October 14-16), later broadcast on BBC Radio 6 Music.
